Jerel & Annie Cummings

Jerel and Annie Cummings are passionate about seeing people's lives gloriously transformed by the truth of God’s Word. Armed with a deep-rooted revelation of Jesus’ redemptive work on the cross, this couple has committed their lives to teaching people the truth of God’s Word. This burning passion to see lives changed through revelation of God’s Word led Jerel and Annie to establish The Freedom Center in Tampa, Florida.

What We Believe
At The Freedom Center, our beliefs are founded on the authority of Scripture. In every way, we aim to honor God in living and leadership. We believe that living according to the Word of God is the key to a prosperous, successful and fulfilling life.
1. The Bible: We believe the Bible, in its entirety, to be the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith, conduct and doctrine.
2. The Trinity: We believe the testimony of both the Old and New Testaments and of the Christian Church that God is both One and Triune. The Bible testifies that there is only one God and that He exists eternally in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
a. God the Father is the creator and sustainer of all things, and He created the universe in love. He created mankind: man and woman, in His image for fellowship and called man back to Himself through the redemptive work of Christ after the sin and fall of man.
b. The Son Jesus Christ is eternally God. He was together with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning, and through Him, all things were made. For man’s redemption, He left heaven and became incarnate by the power of the Holy Spirit through the virgin Mary; henceforth, He is forever one Christ with two natures—God and man—in one person. He was crucified on the cross, died and buried; He was resurrected, ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. And, He is coming back soon.
c. The Holy Spirit is God, the Lord and giver of life, who was active in the Old Testament and given to the Church in fullness at Pentecost. He empowers the saints for service and witness, recreates man with the new nature and conforms us to the image of Christ. The baptism in the Holy Spirit, an experience subsequent to salvation, releases the fullness of the Spirit and is evidenced by speaking in tongues, the fruit of the Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
3. Salvation & Hell: We believe the Word of God which clearly states that salvation is a free gift from God, based on the merits of the death of His Son, and is received by faith in the resurrected Lord Jesus. Jesus’ vicarious death on the cross paid the penalty for the sins of the whole world, but its benefits are only applicable to those who, through faith, receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. Prosperity and health—for your spirit, soul, and body—and all of God’s blessings for His children are provided for in salvation, but are received only through faith. The new birth in Christ Jesus includes the privileges of sonship and inheritance in the kingdom of God. Salvation is an act of free will in response to God’s love for mankind. Those who choose not to believe in the Lord Jesus will join satan and his host in hell for eternal judgment.
4. Water Baptism & Communion: We believe water baptism is a public testimony, subsequent to receiving salvation, of the believer's faith in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. We affirm strongly to the tangible benefits, which positively affect the believer, in receiving Communion regularly, as stated in Scripture. Both institutions are restricted to believers.
5. Firstfruits, Tithes & Offerings: We believe strongly in the biblical institution of giving firstfruits, tithes and offerings. According to Scripture, this principle has a two-fold purpose. The first and primary purpose is to enable the Believer to prosper supernaturally. The second is to provide abundantly for the local Church to fulfill its assignment.
